  23.             COSMIC is the  distribution  center  for  computer  software
  24.             created  under  funding  from  the  National Aeronautics and
  25.             Space Administration (NASA).  The  inventory  contains  over
  26.             1200  programs.   Collections  of  program  abstracts can be
  27.             mailed within the U.S. at no cost in  the  following  areas:
  28.             Aerodynamics;   Artificial  Intelligence;   CAD/CAM;  Compo-
  29.             sites; Computational Fluid Dynamics; Control Systems; Finite
  30.             Element  Analysis;  Heat Transfer; Image Processing; Optics;
  31.             Project Management;  Reliability; Satellite  Communications;
  32.             Scientific  Visualization;  Trajectories;  Turbine Engineer-
  33.             ing; and Utilities. Additionally,  COSMIC  Customer  Support
  34.             will  perform a custom search of the inventory to help users
  35.             identify programs in their area of interest and/or potential
  36.             re-useable algorithms.

  38.             Most COSMIC programs come with the source code.  Educational
  39.             discounts may apply.  Members of the Federal Laboratory Con-
  40.             sortium qualify for the "Software Exchange" program; details
  41.             are available on request.

  43.             New programs are added to the inventory on a monthly  basis.
  44.             Contact  COSMIC  by  electronic  mail  to  receive  a  brief
  45.             description of new programs.
